Miles B. Kehoe, President New Idea Engineering, Inc., Editor of NIE Enterprise Search Newsletter

Welcome to the April / May 2004 edition of Enterprise Search, a free subscription-based newsletter that addresses the technical obstacles that challenge webmasters, engineers, IT Professionals, and content owners as they implement search technology in corporations and organizations. Enterprise Search is published by New Idea Engineering at 10140 Hillcrest Road, Cupertino, California 95014. I've provided information on subscribing and unsubscribing at the end of this newsletter.

Have you ever searched a site only to find that every document in your results list has the same title? Or the summaries are garbled with what looks like Javascript or HTML? This month Mark Bennett details Nine Tips for Better Titles and Summaries. [More].

Following up on a popular article last year about using Windows Script Host code to access the Verity K2 search engine, we're including the first in a series of small scripts to perform useful administrative and informational tasks in your management of K2. The small script COLLIST.VBS will show you all of your K2 collections and their status. [More].

And this month we have another question for Dr. Search dealing with the BASE HREF directive to make changing your results lists much easier. Remember to email your questions about Verity products and other Enterprise Search questions you may have to support@ideaeng.com. [More].
